COMMUNITY SERVICE

Earn up to one elective credit for performing 120 hours of community service.   Contributing to the community through this program not only provides students on the job experience and the opportunity to develop humanitarian attitudes, but it also provides a service to the larger community beyond the school day.  Earn a half-credit for 60 hours of service, performed during the period of a semester or a school year, outside of school time.   A maximum of one credit may be earned and applied toward elective graduation credit.

Before any service hours can be earned you must see the KHPES Guidance Counselor (Ms. Walker) to go over the guidelines and sign & complete the agreement process.  Students are responsible for finding their own work site and to locate a site supervisor who will be willing to document hours and oversee student activities.  Click here to download the Community Service Guidlines?
